How does Garden Fresh Gourmet Personal Chef Service Work?

Chef Diane’s goal is to take care of the meal planning, shopping, and cooking of the evening meals so that you have additional time for the more important parts of your life.

As a Personal Chef, Diane initially meets with her clients to conduct a detailed food survey, which allows her to understand her client’s food preferences and needs. Based on the information learned from the survey she creates a customized menu for her client’s approval and sets up a cooking schedule.  Once a cook date is agreed upon, she does all of the grocery shopping in the morning and shows up at the client’s home with all the equipment she needs to prepare the custom meals. She packages, labels, and leaves each meal in the refrigerator or freezer with complete instructions on how to heat and enjoy. When she leaves, the kitchen is spotless and the house smells wonderful.

About the Chef

Chef Diane is a USPCA Certified Personal Chef and she has satisfied the requirements for her San Bernardino County Food Safety Manager Certification.  

She has successfully completed the Professional Chef I cooking series offered by Epicurean School of Culinary Arts where she was instructed in cooking basics.  She then went on to study International Cuisines and Advanced Cuisine Preparation at Chef Eric's Culinary Classroom.

Diane is a Master Gardener with San Bernardino County and she enjoys working with elementary school children to teach them “garden to table” principles.  She maintains a large garden where she and her husband grow dozens of varieties of fruits, herbs, and vegetables that she uses in her chef service.  She never uses pesticides in her garden so you can be sure that her produce is fresh, healthy, and delicious!

A Personal Chef offers a professional service of meal preparation where menus are based on a client’s individual tastes.  A great selection of nutritious, delicious, custom meals are prepared in a client's home and then packaged, labeled and stored in the refrigerator or freezer with complete instructions for reheating or cooking.  The meals are easy to heat and prepare and even easier to clean up

The service includes complete grocery shopping, customized menu planning, in home meal preparation, storage in containers, and complete kitchen clean up.

What is a Certified Personal Chef?

The federally registered trademark Certified Personal Chef (CPC) is an industry endorsement of professional expertise. The Certified Personal Chef (CPC) designation assures customers of the chef’s commitment to excellence. The National Advisory Council of the USPCA establishes the certification program requirements, standards, and procedures.  Only about 1 out of 5 active Personal Chefs have currently obtained the CPC designation.


Who needs a Personal Chef?
 
Anyone who is too busy to cook or who does not like to cook but who wants to eat healthy, nutritious foods needs a personal chef.  If you eat out at restaurants often but don’t like the restaurant routine of waiting for your table to be ready or your food to be served, then a Personal Chef service will save you time.  If you find yourself thinking about dinner on the way home from work and stopping to grab some fast food on the way, a Personal Chef service will allow you to eat healthier meals.

How are prices determined?
Chef Diane charges a Chef Service Fee plus the cost of groceries.
