The services offered by Dinner with the Mrs. Personal Chef Service are unique and varied, from weekly meals provided for you and your family to personal hands-on cooking classes. Nothing compares to the aroma of bread baking in the oven, a simmering stew on the stovetop, or the appeal of freshly prepared pastries on your table! Invite Dinner with the Mrs. into your home for your initial meal consultation and the rest is easy. The menu planning, grocery shopping, meal preparation, packaging and cleanup is done for you. All that is needed from you is a cleared kitchen countertop and room in your refrigerator and freezer for all of your family's meals!
About the Chef
Sandina Polgar is the Chef/Owner of Dinner with the Mrs. Personal Chef Service, catering to clients in the Wayne County area since 2002. She is a graduate of the United States Personal Chef Institute and takes continuing education classes through The Culinary Institute of America. Sandina is a member and scholarship recipient of Women Chefs and Restaurateurs which promotes the continuing education and advancement of women in the culinary and restaurant industry. In keeping with her belief that customers should be statisfied with nothing less than the freshest produce, Sandina makes "from the farm to the table" her motto, using only locally grown and seasonal products for her food preparation whenever possible.

Learn the history of the tagine and the preparation of preserved lemons, a Moroccan staple, as Chicken with Olives and Preserved Lemons is prepared for your tasting, followed by a refreshing Carrot and Radish Couscous. Join us for all things honey, featuring guest beekeeper and owner of Island Gold Honey, Tracey Gaudette. Tracey brings with her a wealth of information regarding the art of beekeeping and cultivation of the wonderful gift of nature...honey! All of tonights culinary creations will include the honey from Grosse Ile....she'll even bring along a full, edible honeycomb for us to savor. It's the "bee's knees"...don't miss it!

This Asian-inspired menu includes Vietnamese Salad Rolls, where we'll learn about the many uses of rice paper. The Korean Short Ribs will be marinated and broiled to perfection. We'll end the meal with a sweet, refreshing dessert of Toated Coconut Cakes with Tropical Mango Ice Cream.

Series I featured beef and pork...now we'll learn about searing chicken and fish! This 3-part cooking technique showcases poultry, Pan-Seared Chicken Breast with Red Wine Tomato Sauce. Our second entree, Wild Salmon with Rosemary-Lemon Butter Sauce. Each plate will be accompanied by Braised Root Vegetables. We'll finish with a time-honored Gourmet Magazine classic......Homemade Butterscotch Pudding with Sweetened Whipped Cream.

What other services do you offer?
Chef Sandina specializes in custom cakes suitable for birthdays or weddings, using only the finest of ingredients-real butter, fresh eggs and imported chocolates. One taste will tell you...it's the real deal! Satisfied customer testimonials upon request.
We also offer intimate catered dinner parties for parties of 2-12. Seasonal 5-course menus and pricing available upon request. Catered parties up to 75 guests are also available...from hors d'oeuvres to desserts! Seasonal menu selections available upon request.
What if I am trying to lose weight or am on a special diet?
Menus can be customized to assist you with certain dietary restrictions, without leaving you with that "I'm on a diet and it's killing me" feeling! Low salt and low-fat diets can still be tasty and satisfing, and we can assist you with the South Beach, Zone and Adkins plans as well.

Dinner with the Mrs. Personal Chef Service caters to clients in Wayne and Monroe counties and parts of Oakland County.
How are prices determined?
Personal chef clients can choose from a variety of meal packages to suit their particular needs. The most popular standard services are:
10 meal service-(5 entrees, 2 servings each with side dishes) $290
20 meal service- (5 entrees, 4 servings each with side dishes) $360
Special diet, organic selections and specialty menu selections are priced slightly higher and will be addressed during the initial client consultation.
