Services
Take-out again? Are you wondering how you are going to feed your family freshly prepared, healthy meals without spending an arm and a leg or hours in the kitchen? Many people face this dilemma every day. Or perhaps you have dietary restrictions and you're worried about all the sodium in packaged foods? Well, take a deep breath and relax, this is where I come in.
What it is we do:
You and I fill out a detailed food questionnaire that tells me all the foods you love to eat, and the foods you never want to see in your house. I then create a customized menu based exclusively upon your food preferences. On your cooking day, I do all the food shopping, come to your home, cook, package and store each meal in your refrigerator and freezer with detailed thawing and re-heating instructions. By following these instructions carefully, your meals taste like they were just prepared. I then clean up and leave your kitchen the way I found it. All you have to know I was there is the scent of delicious foods wafting through your home.
Necessity or luxury? If your first thought is that this service is an unaffordable luxury, you should think again. Your time and health are your most precious commodities. Instead of spending your time shopping, cooking and cleaning up, spend it with your loved ones, or just relax and enjoy yourself at the end of your day.
We also offer in-home interactive cooking classes and catering services. To learn how to expand your knife skills, or just learn more about healthy cooking techniques, contact us for more information.

About the Chef
When I was a kid growing up, the most popular meal at the time was a TV dinner (usually Swanson fried chicken...I still cringe at the thought of those potatoes), while watching the latest episode of "Love American Style" (I know, I'm dating myself). As I grew, I wanted to eat something different, so I started fooling around in the family kitchen.
In my teenage years I was introduced to health foods (thank you Billy Sharooz). This was a turning point in my life, but it was also very confusing. How do you prepare tempeh? What is the difference between brown and white rice? What in the world is tofu? At the time there was limited support for someone discovering healthy eating, so I took it upon myself to read all literature I could get my hands on about nutrition and healthy cooking.
In the years to follow, I would find work at natural foods restaurants so I could learn more about the preparation of this type of cuisine. I love sharing my knowledge of health-supportive cooking with people who want to develop a healthier lifestyle. Becoming a personal chef seemed like the next step in being able to accomplish this.
Although I specialize in health-supportive cooking, I am more than glad to provide my clients with any type of food they desire.
I have enhanced my training with the Culinary Business Academy by becoming certified by the Natural Gourmet Institute for Food & Health in New York City (the only one of its kind in the world). I am also dedicated to ongoing culinary education, and keeping current of all new information regarding nutrition.

Barry's Soapbox
Happy Holidays to All !
This time of year most everyone is excited to join family and friends for Thanksgiving dinner. Well, most everyone. If you have prepared Thanksgiving dinner for your family before you know how stressful it can be. Is my stuffing going to be cooked properly? Is everyone going to enjoy the new recipe for cranberry relish I got from Better Homes and Gardens magazine? You get the picture. This year I thought it might help if I gave you my favorite Pumpkin Pie recipe. The recipe makes two pies, but I'd keep one hidden, otherwise there won't be any left the following day! You can make your own favorite pie crust or to make life simpler, just buy a package of whole wheat pie crusts at your local Health Food store, it works just fine here. Here is the recipe...hope you enjoy it...
